For generations, Asháninka and Matsigenka peoples have cared for native cacao across the forests of the VRAEM, preserving ancestral ecological knowledge rooted in reciprocity, biodiversity, and a deep relationship with the living forest.

In Yevanashi, Indigenous Asháninka women manage the cultivation and processing of cacao, using artisanal methods that preserve its natural qualities and purity.
